VEDANTA KHUSHI : YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT GOD IS COOKING

At times, frustrated by the every day dejections and set-backs we start questioning the all authority of the almighty. God's entire sense of wisdom comes in question and we feel he is being partial to some and not being considerate to one (ourself).

A small story comes in mind and I would like to narrate.

One day a saint called his two disciples and told them that he is going to die soon. Both his disciples were with him for many long years. One disciple was very sincere and always looked after the needs of saint. But the second was clever and cunning. He would do nothing but pretend to be busy all the time in serving saint. Saint was Saint and he believed in not punishing any of the two himself, though he understood everything.

Just before saint was leaving for heaven he called both of them and told that as both of them have served him for long, he wanted to give them something. But as both are very dear to him, he cannot be partial so he has left everything to their destiny. He asked them to dig at least 2 feet inside the land just outside his hut and take what ever they get as their gift.

He also gave them freedom to choose which ever direction they wanted to dig.

The cunning disciple ran and started digging quickly he got 5 gold coins. He was very happy and without wishing the Saint, he went ahead to his village.

The sincere disciple as he started digging got his hand badly hurt due to a piece of glass. His hand started bleeding. Hurt by the incident, very upset with Saint, he went back to him and explained and asked the reason for this hurt.

The saint smiled, he replied ***YOUR FRIEND WAS DESTINED TO BECOME KING IN THE NEXT LIFE BUT LOOK AT HIM, HE IS HAPPY WITH JUST 5 GOLD COINS AND HIS KINGSHIP IS GONE.

AND FOR YOU, YOU WERE DESTINED TO BE HANGED FOR DEATH AND HERE YOU ESCAPED WITH JUST A SMALL HURT WHICH SHOULD BE FINE IN FEW DAYS.

BUT THIS IS NOT THE END. BECAUSE OF YOUR GOOD DEEDS YOU WILL BE KING INSTEAD AND HE WOULD SERVE YOU***.

Moral of the story: Do good deeds. God has a different calculator for his own analysis. Never doubt his intentions, as he knows what we do not.

Perhaps when we initiated the KHUSHI campaign - Care for the Underprivileged Children, we had the reason and also the motive - and that was to some how bring the underprivileged children in the main stream and make them productive citizens of India. Our campaign continues.

  3. It is very prevalent in and around today.People believe in short term gain and take lot of short cuts to fool others and themselves. Only we hope they will realise this fast otherwise the society will suffer for a long time to recover the loss.
